Interstellar: An Evening with Roger Sayer on Sunday, October 11 @7:00 pm
Experience the music of Christopher Nolan’s iconic movie, Interstellar, as never before. Roger Sayer, the organist featured on the original soundtrack, will perform Hans Zimmer’s celebrated score live on the organ in the beautiful First Presbyterian Church sanctuary. The performance will be accompanied by a video presentation featuring Sayer working with Zimmer on the score in London, offering a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse into the creation of this iconic music.

Roger Sayer has been at the forefront of British choral and organ music for four decades. A former organ student at St Paul’s Cathedral, Roger was Prize Winner at the 1989 St Albans International Organ Competition, and won all the organ prizes at the Royal College of Music. Since then, he has been constantly in demand both as a recitalist and accompanist, and his playing takes him to many parts of the world.
He has held positions as Director of Music at Rochester Cathedral and Temple Church, London. Highlights from his time in London include a live recital at Temple Church broadcast on the BBC, opening the Summer Organ Festival at Westminster Abbey, and playing a recital at St Paul’s Cathedral. Throughout his career in church music, Roger also made multiple recordings and broadcasts, which earned widespread acclaim and recognition. Among his many distinguished recordings are the complete Rheinberger Sonatas and the six organ symphonies of Louis Vierne, both of which received unanimous five-star reviews from critics.
Roger Sayer is best known internationally for his work as the organ soloist on Hans Zimmer’s Academy Award-nominated score for the film Interstellar, and in 2024, appeared as Hans Zimmer’s special guest at London’s O2 Arena as part of Zimmer’s acclaimed concert performances.
Since moving into freelance work in 2023, Roger has enjoyed a varied international career that has taken him across the globe. He is currently touring with his own ‘Interstellar 10’ shows and ‘Interstellar Live’ across the world.
