THE FEMALE GAZE: The Art of Bayan Yunis, Christy Scott Arbogast & Emily Whisman

Experience three distinctive artistic voices as First Presbyterian Church Art Gallery presents “The Female Gaze,” featuring the work of Bayan Yunis, Christy Scott Arbogast, and Emily Whisman. Through photography, mixed media, and ceramic sculpture, these Midwest artists offer fresh perspectives on emotional experience, intimacy, introspection, and the complexities of the human condition.

Bayan Yunis explores interpersonal and intrapersonal relationships through interdisciplinary works that blend photography with post-production editing, creating evocative visual narratives shaped by shifting perspectives.

Photographer and hand-embroidery artist Christy Scott Arbogast combines photography and textile art to blur the boundaries between reality and surrealism. Rich textures and dramatic layers invite viewers into deeply emotional and immersive works.

Ceramic artist and educator Emily Whisman creates sculptural pieces that encourage reflection, revealing and engaging the viewer’s inner thoughts and experiences.

Join us for the Opening Reception on Friday, September 11, from 5:30–7:00 PM, and meet the artists while exploring this compelling exhibition. The opening night reception features art, music, refreshments, and conversation! The event is free and open to the public.
