Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) is an annual observance on November 20 that honors the memory of the transgender people whose lives were lost in acts of antitransgender violence. TDOR was started in 1999 by transgender advocate Gwendolyn Ann Smith as a vigil to honor the memory of Rita Hester, a transgender woman who was killed in 1998.

In honor of those in our church, our community, and the world who suffer, a special prayer and candle-lighting service will be held on the evening of the November 20th at 6:30 PM in McMillan Chapel. Prayers, scripture, and stories from and for the trans community will be shared. All are welcome. Please contact Pastor Carrie with any questions.
