Music Series: The Black Oak Ensemble with Marta Aznavoorian, Piano will perform on November 13, 2022 at 4:00pm in the Sanctuary at First Pres Fort Wayne. The ensemble took root in 2011 when they performed for a standing-room-only audience on Chicago’s prestigious Music in the Loft Series. They have gone on to perform for major venues in the United States and Europe. The ensemble was named for the black oak, a beautiful tree native to their home state of Illinois. Members include Desirée Ruhstrat, Violin, Aurelien Pederzoli, Viola and David Cunliffe, Cello. They will be joined by eminent pianist, Marta Aznavoorian who has performed extensively nationally and internationally. The program will feature the string players on two works by Henri Tomasi and Jean Cras while the highlight of the concert will be two piano trios including the violin and cello by Rebecca Clarke and Joaquín Turina.
