A Fort Wayne native, Todd Sandman Cruz attended St. Charles Borromeo Elementary School, Bishop Dwenger High School and graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre. His education journey continued when he was accepted into the Professional Actor Training Program at the University of Washington, Seattle where he received his Master of Fine Arts in Acting. Todd stayed in Seattle for a few years doing professional theatre.

After several years of working in both Seattle and then Los Angeles, Todd moved back to Muncie, IN where he was an Associate Professor of Theatre teaching Acting 1, Theatre 100 and coached senior acting students for their LA Showcase to be seen by LA casting directors, producers and agents.  During that time, he accepted the position of Executive Director for the Muncie Civic Theatre.  At that time the theatre had fallen into some difficult times and disrepair.  Todd, with the assistance of a great Board of Directors and excellent staff, led the theatre to a full recovery, and before he left in 2015 was halfway through a 2.5-million-dollar campaign to restore the Historic Boyce Block Building (which houses the Theatre).  In his years at Muncie Civic Theatre he produced over 14 shows a year– almost 100 shows in his 7 years as Executive Director.  Todd also acted in and directed numerous shows over those years.
