An annual observance on November 20 that honors the memory of the transgender people whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence. TDOR was started in 1999 by transgender advocate Gwendolyn Ann Smith as a vigil to honor the memory of Rita Hester, a transgender woman who was killed in 1998.
In honor of those in our church, our community, and the world who suffer or love someone who does, a special prayer and candle-lighting service will be held on the evening of the 20th at
6:30 PM in McMillan Chapel. Prayers, scripture, and stories from and for the trans community will be shared. All are welcome. Please contact Pastor Carrie with any questions.
