I have been an Associate Pastor with First Presbyterian Church in Fort Wayne since 2010. I was ordained as a Presbyterian pastor in 1998 in South Korea, where my maternal great-great-grandfather became a believer at the beginning of Korean Christianity after attending a worship service held by missionaries from PCUSA.
I have a “very” Presbyterian family: My father and father-in-law are Presbyterian Ruling Elders, and there are 16 Presbyterian Pastors/Teaching Elders among my close relatives. I moved to America in 2007 and served in a Korean American Presbyterian church in a Chicago suburb while attending McCormick Theological Seminary, where I received my Doctor of Ministry degree in May 2011.
I am a graduate of Pusan National University (South Korea), where I majored in Philosophy and was a member of the Pusan National University Chorus Team. I graduated from Presbyterian Theological Seminary (South Korea) with both M.Div and Th. M (Christian Ethics) degrees.
I have been married to Sunlim Shin for 24 years, and we have two sons. Our eldest, Brian, is currently serving at Purdue Korean Presbyterian Church as a band member.
I enjoy running and golfing and I recently served as Moderator of the Whitewater Valley Presbytery.
