National Organ Playing Competition

March 21 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

The First Presbyterian Church National Organ Playing Competition was started in 1960 and is the longest-running competition in the United States. Come and enjoy hearing three young organists compete for three prizes. They will be playing three pieces – a Bach Trio Sonata (an instrumental trio played all on the organ), a piece written in Romantic style (showing their ability to play expressively), and a composition that contrasts the other two selections. Past winners have gone on to have distinguished careers as concert organists, university professors and church musicians. The finalists will likely be organists who have been in many national and international competitions. You do not want to miss out on this opportunity to hear three very fine musicians!

A freewill donation will be taken. Contact Michael Hollman at mhollman@mac.com or 260-223-3005 for more information.
