Food Collection Sunday

t’s not even Halloween yet, but as displays in many stores remind us, the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays are approaching.  The three food banks that First Presbyterian supports are prepping for those holidays as well, gathering the foods that the hundreds of people who depend on them will need for the holiday season.  This month Hunger Relief asks you to contribute food items geared to holiday needs.  The following items are especially needed:  cake mixes (any variety), frosting (any variety), boxed stuffing mix, canned sweet potatoes/yams, canned cranberry sauce, xJiffy corn muffin mix, gravy mix packets turkey or chicken, boxed or bagged instant mashed potatoes. 

This month we will be collecting food at the 11:00 service on Sunday, October 15th.  Food items may also be left at the church office during the week.  Your generosity makes a real difference to our neighbors who depend on the food banks.  Thank you so much for your participation in this important church ministry.
