First Presbyterian Church is continuing its Tough Talk series with an online conversation about Queer Theology and the Church. Uncomfortable Christianity: What does Queer Theology have to do with me and why do some people find it so dangerous?, will take place on Wednesday, February 2, at 7pm EST, 6pm CST, and will feature Rev. Remington Johnson, a transgender woman, Presbyterian pastor and gay rights activist, and Dr. Bill Greenway, Professor of Philosophical Theology at the Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, as guest speakers.

As the topic of the LGBTQ community and religion continually intensifies, specifically pertaining to ‘bathroom bills’, equal rights, and Christian backlash, First Pres, an all-inclusive church, has an obligation to stand up for all people regardless of race, sexual orientation, and political affiliation.

“I’m looking forward to this Tough Talk on Queer Theology to learn more about it and how Christians can continue to confront the hatred and homophobia that many churches espouse,” said Dr. Anne Epling, Pastor/Head of Staff at First Presbyterian Church.
