Effective immediately, during weekday office hours (9:00am to 5:00pm) the main entrance into the church will be the Berry Street entrance next to the playground. All staff, members, visitors and deliveries will be directed to use the Berry Street entrance on the north side of the building. Fifty-year members of FPC were recognized at the 11:00am worship service and at a luncheon on April 29. Attaining the status this year were Ned Brenizer, Mary Beth Figel, Cleora Fox, Becky Kindel, Barbara McCants, David McCants, Ed Neufer, Peg Nollen, Walter Nollen, Geoff Paddock, and Christa Schloss. During a Congregational Meeting at the start of the April 29 service, four new church officers were elected. On the Board of Deacons, Janice Roddy will fill an unexpired two-year term and Karen Bash and Mary Winters will fill unexpired one-year terms. The Children, Youth, and Family Committee and the Earth Care Ministry will participate in the Great American Cleanup, Saturday, April 21. All are welcome including friends of the Church. We will be picking up litter along a new section of greenway in Fort Wayne. The Korean group is organizing a sale of egg rolls.The event is hosted here by the IPFW Korean Saturday School to raise funds for the Korean Festival 2018. On Sunday April 22 and 29 there will be order forms in your bulletin. You can fill out the form and attach cash or a check with it. A drop off box will be in the Church Office. The Congregation has voted unanimously to call Rev. Dr. Anne Bain Epling as the next Pastor/Head of Staff of First Presbyterian Church. She was selected after a ten-month search by the Pastor Nominating Committee, and will begin her ministry with us June 1. The FPC Green Team kicked off its promotion of Fair Trade products with a vegetarian luncheon program Sunday, February 11. The meal featured organically grown foods where possible, and fair trade coffees, teas, and chocolates were introduced for sale. Supporting Fair Trade proves that greater justice in world trade is possible.
