New Mission Project

The Faith, Fibers, and Fellowship group is coordinating a mission project to provide up to 100 hat and scarf sets for Everyone a Neighbor Day.  We need crafters to start knitting, crocheting and weaving for January 2020.  You can use any pattern that you like, and can craft at home or with us!  We also have donated hats that need scarves.  New and experienced crafters can join us weekly on Monday evenings 6:30pm – 8:30pm in Room 302.  A log of completed items is…

Deacons Ditty Bag Project

June 12, 2019

The bags are distributed to residents living in two shelters: Charis House for women and children and the  Rescue Mission for men.  Seamstresses volunteered their time sewing colorful bags that are used to hold personal hygiene items.  The congregation donated travel-sized toiletries and other personal hygiene items to stuff into the bags.  In addition, Karen Sandman applied for a grant from Thrivent and received 250 dollars which was used to buy more supplies. Helping Ohio Tornado Clean-up

Bill Patterson, property manager of First Presbyterian Church, is being deployed by Presbyterian Disaster Assistance to tornado-damaged areas of Ohio. As a member of the National Response Team he will be leading other volunteers May 31-June 4 in Celina and the Dayton vicinity.

Pentecost Special Offering

A gift to the Pentecost Offering helps the church encourage, develop, and support its young people, and also address the needs of at-risk children. 40% of the Pentecost offering is retained by our own congregation to make an impact in the lives of young people within our community. The remaining 60% is used to support ministries of the Presbyterian Mission Agency.  The offering will be received during June 9th worship services.

Memorial Day Weekend

Family Retreat May 18-19

There is still time to join us for a weekend family retreat at Geneva Center May 18 - May 19. We will leave the church parking lot May 18 at 7:30am.  Upon arrival, we will spend Saturday morning helping around the retreat center, then have lunch together. Empty Bowls Project

April 23, 11:00am to 2:00pm, McKay Hall -  A project sponsored by the Purdue Fort Wayne Department of Art and Design to help raise money for the  Pantry at Purdue Fort Wayne, Blessings in a Backpack, and allows the Purdue Ceramics Club to continue hosting events like this. Individuals donate $20 and select a beautiful, one-of-a-kind, handcrafted ceramic bowl along with a complimentary soup lunch including a drink and dessert.
