In the wake of mass shootings becoming normal, and sales of bulletproof backpacks actually being a thing, First Presbyterian Church is hosting a documentary screening of Trigger: The Ripple Effect of Gun Violence. Join us on Wednesday, September 11, at 6pm (childcare is available) in the First Pres Theater for the screening followed by a Q&A with local influencers about how we can address the issue as a community. Panelists include Pastor Annie Epling, former FWPD officer and community activist Dottie Davis, and LaToya Trigg, mother of 16yr old Marlon Davis who was gunned down earlier this year.
This documentary shows gun violence from the perspective of victims, survivors, and their loved ones. The film also explores efforts to combat the problem from protests to organizations such as The Coalition to Stop Gun Violence to university-based research programs.
