Reverend Haworth is an ordained minister who has served God ‘s church family in professional ministry for 38 years. Serving a variety of Congregational, Friends and Presbyterian Churches has provided Rev. Haworth with a deep appreciation and understanding of the wonderful diversity of God’s people.
His Bachelor of Science, Master of Divinity and Doctoral of Ministry training came from Hanover College, Asbury College, Taylor University and Louisville Theological Seminary. Training in Stephen’s Ministry leadership, Grieve Bereavement and Camp and Conference round out experiences that have deeply impacted Rev. Haworth’s life and ministry. A native of Indiana, Rev. Bill is married to his high school sweetheart, Ann, and together they have been blessed with two children: Sara and Luke.
Rev. Bill enjoys golf, fishing, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, camping and spending time outdoors in God’s creative playground. Rev. Bill enjoys senior adults’ “been there, done that” experience and attitude to enjoy each day God gives them without playing the “mind games” that dominate the younger years of life. Healthy aging and emphasizing a positive quality of life are important fundamental components of Rev. Bill’s ministry with Smock Seniors.
A major goal of Rev. Bill’s is to help smaller Presbyterian Churches throughout Indiana develop “cluster ministries” of three to five churches doing Senior Adult ministries together. Financial and leadership help is provided through Smock Ministries. If the Lord Jesus tarries and God provides, Rev. Bill hopes to spend the next several years expanding Smock Ministries throughout Indiana.
