I feel incredibly blessed to be serving at the church in which I was raised, baptized, and confirmed. After graduating from Northrop High School, I attended Indiana University, Bloomington, where I received a BS in Early Childhood Education and Childhood Development. I spent time in a variety of early childhood settings before taking a position in a public elementary school. I have taught in K, 2nd, and 3rd classrooms in IN, PA, and DC. I served as a literacy coach and grant coordinator at FWCS before taking time off to raise our family. Prior to returning to the classroom, I served here at First Pres as the Director of Children, Youth, and Family Ministries. I then taught the 2’s class at The Chapel Christian Preschool for three years.
My husband is a Fort Wayne firefighter, and we are the proud parents of three incredible children that keep us busy with their activities. When I can sneak away, I love to travel to new places! My other hobbies include cooking and home decorating.
Early childhood educating is a gift. The first five years of life bring incredible growth to all areas of a child’s development. The teachers and I view each child as a unique individual that God perfectly created. We team with parents to create ways to best support their child’s natural creativity and curiosities for the world around them. Using a curriculum that encourages hands on exploration and wondering, we aim to ignite a passion for lifelong learning.
